Masta Ace, from Brooklyn, New York. Appearing on classic 1988 posse cut, "The Symphony", he garnered notoriety as an unsung asset to the Juice Crew posse, and is therefore, widely considered one on the roster, where he released a number of well-respected albums that were nonetheless little-heard outside purist circles. The single that has earned him the most attention has been "Jeep Ass Niguh" (alternatively known as "Born To Roll", essentially a remix which uses a tweaked Moog synthesizer bassline sampled from Kraftwerk.)
His most recent (and reportedly final) album, A Long Hot Summer, gained considerable acclaim in 2004. He is one of a number of rappers to have mulled over the possibility of operating a record label, and his decision whether or not to quit rapping per se is pending.

In 1991, Edo G put out a highly-esteemed album with his then-group Da Bulldogs, entitled "Life of a Kid in the Ghetto." It featured a Boston-local hit, "Be a Father to Your Child," as well as, "I Got To Have It," which was sampled later by Mary J. Blige on the track "Ooh". The group was dropped from Mercury Records in 1993.
Ed has since gone on to release four LPs and two EPs, toured around the world and worked with counterparts such as Pete Rock, DJ Premier, RZA, KRS-One, Common, Black Thought of The Roots, and Masta Ace among others.
Although not nationally known, he has a cult following in Boston and an international fanbase. On his solo album The Truth Hurts (as Edo G), he linked up with DJ Premier and Pete Rock; the latter connection turned into a partnership for the largely Pete-produced record My Own Worst Enemy. One of the album's songs, "Wishing" (featuring Masta Ace), was featured on The Boondocks in episode 9, Return of the King.
In 2005, he started a group called "Special Teamz" with fellow Boston rappers Jaysaun and Slaine and DJ Jayceeoh. They released a mixtape on November 11, 2005 entitled "The Mixtape."
Edo and his group, Special Teamz, are working on a new album, Stereotypez, featuring production from Pete and Premier as well as Marco Polo, previous collaborator Jake One, and Ill Bill; appearances will include Buckshot and Sean Price of the Boot Camp Click, Ill Bill, and Devin the Dude due to come out September 25, 2007. Edo G is currently working on a new album with Masta Ace. The first single, entitled "Little Young", can be heard on his official Myspace page. Recently the album, which is suppose to come out Oct. 6, 09, got delayed due to a cease & desist order from A&E television that Ace & Edo need to completely revised the artwork and design.
Edo G is also a member of the Boston hip hop supergroup 4Peace along with Twice Thou, Wyatt Jackson and DQuest.
